I took my brain for a walk today so it can take in some fresh air. I have been a little testy of late and it’s sapping my energy. Not useful at all.
For a change, I’m putting on blinders to take a look at the bright side. And being thankful is a potent way of dismissing this negativity that’s starting to eat my insides.
Voltaire says, “Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.”
So here are my rock stars whose excellence I have appropriated for myself:
1. DiTesco : Thank you for that long email you wrote me last night explaining how to register for a domain name through Google, and hosting the same at Blogger. Thanks as well for your helpful SEO tips and blogging insights.
2. Rocky: He’s lots of useful posts about SEO and blogging tips. And he has this fantastic blog contest wherein he’s giving away free domain name, free hosting for one year, free Thesis theme, and technical support to make your transfer to self-hosting seamless. You still have time to join his contest until April 30.
3. Jaypee : For answering my comments on his blog by personal email, for shedding light on my numerous concerns in Gmail Chat, and for asking me to guest post on his blog. Perhaps a nice way of shutting me up so my good buddy will have some peace of mind for at least a day or two?
4. Joji: My psychic blog buddy, my conscience and part-time tormentor, my constant source of mirth and inspiration.
5. Dee: Eloquent lips, brilliant mind and generous heart. Join her blog contest to win the book Chicken Soup for the Soul.
6. Bingkee : For the tough love and enduring friendship and the constant stream of tips and useful advice.
7. Yatot: My first blog buddy who’s into creative writing now. He came back from his Hong Kong hiatus during the Holy Week a changed man: turned suddenly reclusive and has launched a new religion.
8. Elmot : For his skillful interrogation methods. This will serve you well in blogging, young brother. It’s a good thing you’ve the compassion to temper your scary skills.
9. Dan: Not all young hotshots are little rascals. Dan who pens Command Your Time helps you in maximizing your self-fulfillment . He’s only 13 years old but this early he can put many of us to shame with his excellent networking skills, perfect manners and genuine interest in people.
10. Terry of Bloggity – Simple Blog Tips, thanks for selecting me as one of your winners in Blog Boosting Brouhaha contest. This means he’d mentor me and Dan, and three other lucky winners so we can master blogging issues which are holding us back. Finding solutions to these concerns will help us catapult our blogs into the blogosphere.
11. Roy : For your deft behind-the-scenes quarterbacking. I’m very thankful for your suggestions, links, and steadying influence. Your email ninja skills are amazing.
12. Zorlone : Doctor by day, poet by night, Z wields the scalpel and pen equally well. This Pinoy William Carlos Williams slows me down to read poetry. Very tempting, but this might make me young again and there’s danger in that, my good sir.
Who are your rock stars? Have you put in a good word about them lately? Do they know they’re appreciated?
