2008 Has Left the Building: Happy New Year Folks

2008 Taipei City New Year Countdown Party: The...Image via WikipediaWe spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives… not looking for flaws, but for potential. – Ellen Goodman

Happy New Year my Filipino friends. I hope you have survived your pistol packing, trigger-happy neighbors who think nothing of firing into the air during the celebrations. I also pray the expected inebriation cost you nothing but dagger looks from the neighbors who were at the receiving end of your impromptu karaoke cum concert. And that you have not lost fingers because of firecrackers.

To my new online friends and readers – Happy New Year to you too. Tell us your new year resolutions, but keep it simple. Spare us what Mark Twain considered as “humbug resolutions.” Kidding. We’re friends. Bring it on.

And here’s to a remarkable, prosperous and happy new year ahead of us. Cheers.

@mye: Wow, that's just great. Is it something to read? Does it come in four wheels - but I don't have a driveway! Is it something for the tummy?
