The die is cast.  Here is my final list of  nominees for the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009.

This is an updated post, guys.

Good writing, wit, humor and great connection with readers define my nominees for top influential blogs.  Cuteness is a superficial yardstick to measure a blog’s potentiality for greatness.  That’s why I have edited every reference to cuteness here.

These 10 blogs have indeed emerged from their caves, and now have ventured out into the blogosphere armed with nothing but excellence.

Meet my elite team of influential blogs

1. Ada of Adaphobic
2. Dee of Tales From the Mom Side
3. Kelvin of Kelvinonian Ideas 2.0
4. Rye of Flamindevil
5. Silver of Dare to Speak Out
6. Snow of Dear Bloggery
7. Roy of The Struggling Blogger
8. Doc Z of Zorlone
9. Fedhz of Fedhz/Home Buddies
10. Jehz and friendsPatay Gutom

Assignment from Lolo Jan

1. blog hop to gain exposure and more readers for your blog
2. ask your own readers to write a post about this writing project themselves.
3. convince your followers to include you in their own top 10 list.
4. keep doing your outstanding work in your blog as this translates into more votes.
5. coordinate with me and among yourselves so we’d be making significant results.

You need a vote – ask for it

Use every weapon in your arsenal. Be charming. Be eloquent. Be funny. Anything to make yourself heard so you get the vote of the blogs you’re visiting. Throw yourself into this project wholeheartedly. If you don’t get the vote you covet, take heart, at the very least you’d get yourself more readers and friends. Not so bad, right?

Be anything but coy. To get what you need you have to ask for it.

Vote for me, too

I need you to vote for me. There – I’ve said. Quite simple, right? Okay, one more time with feeling: vote for me, capice? Ahahaha.

Now, that’s not so bad huh? Moving on….

Take no prisoners, guys

Really now. I need you to win. Barring this, you have to make a very strong showing. As of now, you’re all influential to me. But take this to another level.

Be exasperatingly (for the opposition at least) INFLUENTIAL.

The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009 is a yearly writing project by Ms. Janette Toral of Influential Blogger. If you’re interested to join this contest, you can check out Ms. Toral’s post on prizes, rules and other details here.

not under observation, hirap lang talaga akong magcompose ng comment na may relevance, for fear that I may not get the right idea of the post.

i may not look like it Jan, but english intimidates me

English intimidates me, too. But I don’t let it stop me, Roy. I’m not
conceited and completely sold on my power of comprehension, let alone
expressing how I relate to what I read.
It doesn’t stop me because I don’t let it get in the way of my progress. If
you can call it that.
I look deep inside and express what my gut feel tells me. That’s not too
hard right? After all, who’s to know how you feel, how you relate to
things/ideas better than you are. Trust your instincts, is all I can say.
You’re far ahead of the game, Roy. You’re doing good.
Ah yes, the art of humility. That’s a great thing. Keeps us grounded and
all that. We should not, however, second guess ourselves. We are making
progress, one baby step at a time sometimes. At other times we hurtle at
breakneck speed. It’s all for the good. We’re doing great.
Trust me.

Great list of blogs – too often we only hear about the really high profile bloggers. I am going to add some of these to my favorites. Influential bloggers is an interesting award. How does one define influential? On who?

Reply

It’s primarily for new or emerging bloggers who have gained and continued to
gain wide readership. The cut off date for a blog to qualify: May 2008 up
to the present time.
It strikes me as a loose definition of influential blogging. After all, the
bloggers cited are just starting to break from their cocoon. But in the
process from the nomination to the awarding of the final Top Ten, at least
these blogs will have attained some measure of influence.
You can say it’s more like a leap of faith of sorts. Or a stretching of a
particularly unambiguous word. But that’s the nature of and benefits of
memes or tags – they can spell the difference in some blogs acceptance into
the mainstream of the blogosphere. And that feat makes them influential.
Have I lost you in that one? Ahahaha. Perhaps I need to provide a link to
the organizer’s post on this writing project. “,)

I just often wonder if influence really equals traffic by definition and even then is it daily traffic, rss feeds, etc. Maybe next year I will have enough of an audience to make a run for the awards :)

Oh, I think my next post will be an appeal for patience. Rocky and I will
be working on the blog transfer this afternoon to my new blog:
writingtoexhale.com. I don’t know how long this blog transfer takes.
I’m excited and anxious and keeps making trips to the comfort room. “,)

Hi Raymond,

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog. What’s with you doctors – are you taking over the blogosphere? Ahahaha. You see, I’ve a Doc Z as a blogging buddy. You doctors really rock. :)

I’ve left a message in your blog about Twitter. I think your blog needs social media coverage like Twitter. You know – for getting your unique perspective heard and for the added eyeballs for your blog.

If you have one already, please feel free to add me there. My username: jan_geronimo.

It’s such a bummer I’ve already filled my last slot in the top 10. You truly are deserving to be voted in anyone’s list.

Cheers. :)
